Welcome to Newport S.W.A.T.

Our Scouts Water Activities Team provides sailing and other water activities to scouts in Newport, South Wales, and our friends in surrounding scout districts.

We offer...

Adult and youth taster sessions on Drascombe Luggers.
Scout and Explorer sessions on our RS Fevas.
Adult and Explorer powerboa
t training sessions
RYA sailing and powerboat courses for adult and scout members.

Check out our session pages to find out more about our activities and how to book.

We are always looking for new instructors to join our team. No previous sailing experience necessary as we will teach you all you need to know over a season or two. We would like you to help at 4 or 5 sessions each season.

This is a great way to learn sailing and powerboating and help scouts get on the water at the same time.

Typically your first season will be spent learning to sail and assisting with running scout sessions, and in your second season you may have achieved RYA qualifications and been assessed for Scout Leadership permits.

So if you are an adult in scouting in Gwent Area and you would like to try sailing with a view to joining our team just send us a message via our Contact Us page to get started.
